What is Synchro...?
Synchronized skating, or "synchro" is a specialized discipline of skating involving groups of twelve or more skaters performing various group formations and maneuvers. The objective is for the team to perform as one unit executing circles, blocks, lines, wheels and intersections in unison to the music, while demonstrating quality edges, power and flow.
Synchronized skating has grown in popularity around the world and Canada is considered a world-leader in this discipline.
What is required to participate ....
Each skater must be a registered member with Skate Canada and must meet the age criteria established for the skill division that the team registers in. New Members are welcome to join the team before Nov. 1st of the current skating season.
Complete a skating skills assessment to be conducted by the Coach.
Commitment to the team will be for the fall/winter season which includes full participation in competition events, costume, travel as needed, fundraising events, etc. and all other team priorities as determined by the team. During competition, additional on & off ice practice sessions may also be required.
For ongoing skating development, it is recommended that each skater also participate in other figure skating disciplines with individual lesson and practice time to improve personal skating skills.
