Maple Ridge is proud to welcome Regan Taylor to our team of coaches for the 2010 seasonAs the past Regional Development Team Coordinator and as coach/organizer of various BC Coast Region skating seminars, Regan brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to help all skaters achieve excellence from the beginner to the elite competitive levels of our sport. Let her enthusiasm for skating and her extensive background inspire your child!

Regan has her Gold Dances, Novice Competitive, and 7th Figure Tests. She has competed at Provincial and National Levels in skating. She skated with Disney on Ice for 7 years travelling to 26 different countries. She also has a Bachelor's of Science degree in Chemistry and a Bachelor of Education Degree with a minor in Secondary Mathematics and works as an online teacher in Abbotsford. She coaches most aspects of skating including power skating and synchronized skating. Regan offers private lessons in Freeskate, Skills, Dance, Interpretive & Choreography.

Elyse Marlo [Coach]

Elyse began skating at the age of 5 at the Maple Ridge Skating Club. She was a competitive skater in Freeskate and Dance. She medaled in Dance at the 2005 and 2006 BC/YT Section Championships and competed at the Skate Canada Western Challenge. As a Freeskater she competed in BC/YT Section Championships and BC Winter Games. She was BC Coast Champion in Pre-Juvenile and Juvenile. She has successfully completed her gold tests in Freeskate, Dance and Skills. She has had extensive training in RAD ballet, jazz and hip hop. 

 
Elyse has an Associates of Arts Degree with a Specialization in Criminology graduating in the top 10% of her class. She is currently attending Simon Fraser University pursuing a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminology.  Her approach to coaching is to encourage skaters to achieve their personal best and to have fun doing so.

Brenda Boulin [Coach]

Brenda began skating at the age of 5 at the Williams Lake Figure Skating Club. She later moved/trained at the Kerrisdale Figure Skating Club in Vancouver under the watchful eye of Master Coach, Dr. Hellmut May. Brenda competed regionally and provincially, winning many competitions and Artistic awards.

Since turning professional in 1982, Brenda has had the opportunity to coach in many areas of our Province. She has coached in Whitehorse, Squamish, Williams Lake, Quesnel, Vancouver, Surrey and most recently for the past 5 seasons in Port Coquitlam. Brenda has coached both recreational and competitive skaters and has had skaters pass the Gold level in all disciplines. Brenda has also developed her own "Hockey Conditioning" class, which has proved to be quite successful.
Brenda's philosophy to skating is "fun" and "fitness" as she motivates skaters to achieve their goals and encourages their positive self-esteem! She looks forward to continuing her coaching career with the Maple Ridge Skating Club and their coaching staff!

Cindy Watson [Coach - Synchro]

Cindy has taught all levels and disciplines of skating, from Pre School through to StarSkate and CompetitiveSkate, both with children and adults. Her passion with synchro started in 1997 where, as a skater, she traveled to her first National Synchro Championships in Hamilton. She then began coaching a group of ladies which become the Coquitlam Masters Synchro Team. She has also coached Pre-Juvenile, Juvenile, Pre-Novice, and Novice teams representing the Maple Ridge SC and Cloverdale FSC.

Some of her personal achievements in skating include: Gold Figure, Gold Freeskate, Gold Dances, Part I & II Junior Competitive Freeskate, Bronze Rhythm Dance Variation, Level II Skills, Evaluator (all disciplines up to and including Pre-Novice Level), and was the Recipient of the “1996 Evaluator of the Year” award.

Andrew Lenton [Dry Land Trainer]

A former elite track & field athlete, who competed internationally for Canada. He is the former provincial junior record holder in the 1500m, 3000m, & 5000m events and a former BC High School record holder at 1500m. Following winning the USA National Championships in high school, he went on to be ranked 9th in the world in 1987 in the 1500m.

Coaching for over 20 years, Andrew has experience in a wide range of sports and is currently a Master Course conductor for Athletics Canada. He is an NCCP Level IV Certified coach and a graduate of the National Coaching Institute in Victoria. He is a graduate from the University of Oregon with a Masters degree where he researched & studied long term athlete development models. He has gone on to establish a track club, consult for several NCAA university programs, and coach athletes & teams at all levels of sport. He has years of experience working with elite junior & youth athletes and is the former Head Clinician for Athletics Canada at the National Legion Youth Development Camp.
 
Andrew has a wealth of experience developing programs for kids, in a wide variety of sports, for the development of speed, coordination, agility, strength & flexibility. He currently works with elite youth developing fundamental athletic skills in several sports including: Hockey, Soccer, Figure Skating, and Track & Field.
